With the nice weather we’ve been having and the school year rapidly coming to a close, it’s time to get out and enjoy a month full of fun (and free!) events across San Antonio! Take a look at this awesome list!

San Antonio | The Saga. This free video art installation, created by Xavier De Richemont, plays three times a night, weather permitting, on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays on the facade of San Fernando Cathedral.

The San Antonio League of Sidewalk Astronomers (SALSA) offers free stargazing to the public every Wednesday evening beginning at sunset.

Imagination Playground at Hemisfair. This free, organized play event at Yanaguana Garden takes place every Monday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Tuesday, May 2: Whole Foods Quarry Market, 255 E Basse Rd #130, 78209, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Join Whole Foods at the Quarry Market Cafe, the first Tuesday of every month, for the Kids Club Story Time. There will be a story, a snack and some fun activities! This monthly event is free – register here.

Free Tuesday Nights at the Briscoe Western Art Museum! Everyone gets in free on Tuesday nights from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to enjoy special programs, music, and more. And, remember: during all other open days/times, the Briscoe offers free admission, year-round, to children 12 and under and to all active military and their families (up to 4 people).

Free admission to The DoSeum on the first and third Tuesday of every month! Only the first 1,200 guests will be admitted so arrive early. Parking is free but limited – another good reason to be there early. Remember: no outside food allowed and umbrella strollers only inside the museum. The cafe will be open with food and drinks for sale.

Part of San Antonio’s Parks & Recreation Fitness in the Park Free fitness classes, dance your way to fit with CIZE Live. You’ll be learning professionally choreographed dance routines with moves you can take anywhere! The skilled instructor will break down the moves, step-by-step, and gradually add on till you and your new dance crew can bust out the whole routine at the end of each class! The moves might be easy to learn, but they’re actually hard work! You’ll get cardiovascular conditioning, core strengthening, and overall muscle toning—all at once! You’ll be steppin’, swervin’, and clapping—nonstop. So you can burn fat and love every minute of it. Bring water, a towel and a friend!

First Saturday at The Alamo! On the first Saturday of every month, the grounds of the Alamo are transformed back in time to the 1830s. Join us for a full day of living history fun that the whole family will enjoy. Learn about life in frontier Texas with special demonstrations and crafts.

Starting Out Wild Nature Play Day! Bring your toddlers, 1 to 4 years old, for an active morning together in the park.  Enjoy hands-on nature play activities, crafts, movement, songs and readings of nature books. You know what your child likes best, so please bring your own snacks and drinks. No registration is required. Free to attend but a donation of $3 per person or $5 per family is appreciated.

Teams from across Texas will compete in figures, solos, duets, team, and combo synchronized swimming routines. Bring the whole family for a fun day of experiencing this mesmerizing sport which requires a unique combination of athleticism, stamina, timing, and grace like no other sport!
