Seaworld Seven Seas Food and Wine Festival in San Antonio

Please note: I received complimentary admission to both SeaWorld and the Seven Seas Wine and Food Festival for the purposes of attending and reviewing the event. However, all opinions are mine. Thank you for supporting the organizations and brands that support San Antonio Mom Blogs!

This holiday weekend, head to SeaWorld Texas, where you’re in for a delicious treat! The Seven Seas Food and Wine Festival finishes its spring-time run this weekend with four days of fantastic food, wine, spirits, desserts, and global entertainment.

Seven Seas Food and Wine Festival at SeaWorld Texas

SeaWorld’s annual tribute to great, international flavors finishes it’s six-weekend run this weekend on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (Memorial Day). When you’re considering your holiday weekend plans, don’t let this delicious event escape you. Bring the kids for the usual fabulous SeaWorld fun: shows, rides, educational experiences, and waterpark fun at Aquatica. But adults will want to stay for the eight Food and Wine Festival kiosks located around the park, featuring spectacular food and drinks from 11 different countries. And, in addition to these flavorful offerings, enjoy international entertainment, matched to each country.

Executive Chef Scott Ronczkowski’s delicious dream

Now in its third year, the Seven Seas Food and Wine Festival delivers on the vast and varied menu created by SeaWorld’s Executive Chef, Scott Ronczkowski. Chef Scott, who’s friendly, jovial, and excited as he explains his involvement in the event, created the full festival menu based on the foods he loves to eat, with many of the items representing dishes he’s enjoyed while on vacation around the world (Jamaica selections, for instance, were inspired by his honeymoon trip several years ago).

What to expect at the Seven Seas Food and Wine Festival

Taste and toast your way around the world, from the Pacific Rim to the South Atlantic to the sun-kissed Mediterranean. Explore dishes from the exotic to the classics at specially themed festival locations throughout the park, along with a global collection of unique wines, craft cocktails and imported beers. Plus, enjoy other foodie events, live music, strolling entertainers, special VIP experiences and more, all in a festival-style atmosphere.

Once you’ve entered the gates at SeaWorld, head to the right to the Seven Seas booth to purchase the package that’s right for you.

Then, stop by your favorite countries to enjoy the delicacies they offer, including the wine, beer, and spirits that pair best with them. My suggestion: go big and start with the biggest package offered. Because once you get started eating and drinking your way through the park, you won’t want to stop. Each kiosk’s temptations are better than the last one you visited. Pace yourself and save room for dessert!

My favorite foods and drinks at the Seven Seas Food and Wine Festival

Favorite kiosk:
Jamaica
I had no idea what to expect when I ordered the Chicken Patty but it was the most delicious blend of chicken and curry packaged in a tender, flaky, and shockingly bright yellow crust. It was a true surprise to my taste buds and something I can’t wait to eat again.

Favorite cocktail:
Caribbean Breeze (found at the Jamaica kiosk and pictured above)
With coconut rum, dark rum, pineapple juice, and Sprite, this cocktail goes down easy. It reminded me of my island honeymoon!

Favorite dessert:
The crepes!
The crepes were a true standout among the wide variety of foods available at the festival. They come in both savory and sweet flavors (my favorite was the Berries and Cream) and they are TO DIE FOR. Chef Scott dreamed up the fantastic idea of providing authentic crepes and brought it to life just for the Seven Seas Food Festival! He not only drew up the plans for the crepe station (located near the Journey to Atlantis ride) but he also brought in crepe machines from France and allows his talented in-house pastry chefs to show off their stellar skills, making the crepes to order, by hand, while you watch.

Try a unique cocktail that combines Modelo, Sprite, and white wine:
At the Spain kiosk, check out the crazy (and a little too sweet for me) Porron con Garabato. It could be the perfect Texas summer sipping cocktail!

The Beer Garden
Sit in this shady spot overlooking the back of the water ski bay and sip on local and Texas beers and also wine selections from Lost Draw Cellars from Fredericksburg

Don’t let the Seven Seas Food and Wine Festival pass you by: y’all, this ain’t your mama’s theme park food! This was my first time attending this delicious festival and you can bet it won’t be my last. This is the last weekend to attend this year, so be sure to go. Next up at SeaWorld: the opening of their latest ride, Wave Breaker, The Rescue Coaster, which opens on June 16, 2017. You’ll love:

  • your adventure choosing an animal to rescue on your coaster trip.
  • riding on wave runners above the water.
  • a 61-foot drop.
  • riding the first and only coaster of this kind!
